THIS NOTICE MUST BE KEPT AT EVERY TENT AT THE FIELD

Clan Sponsors: For the safety and enjoyment of your Clansmen please note the following:

The Rural Hill Scottish Festival and Loch Norman Highland Games is a family gathering. We support family fun and entertainment in a safe environment. Our aim is to have an event that will showcase our interest in our Scottish Heritage as well as to raise awareness and money to support Scottish Heritage programs.

Inappropriate behavior cannot be tolerated and we ask all Clansmen to help monitor their area. As one of the first private non-profit groups to receive a lease on a County Historic site, we know our events are being watched very carefully. Let’s keep our people safe.

  1. We have Permits to serve alcoholic beverages at our Patrons & Sponsors Reception. The Carolina Beer Company will be offering beverages for purchase during the weekend; the rest of the property is dry.
  2. The Hospitality tent will be open during the day to Patrons or Sponsors for coffee, tea, soft drinks and snacks. Remember that discretion and good taste are the order of the day.
  3. The thrift of the Scottish people is legendary... reuse it, fix it, or recycle it... we do not throw anything away... there will be a test of this theory at the end of the day on Sunday... if you see trash left on the ground in a Clan tent... it’s nae Scottish.
  4. Please be aware that the Games receive more than 50 requests from Vendors who would like to sell their merchandise at the Games. The Vending Policy of the Games requires that these Vendors supply a certificate of insurance as well as pay a fee for the privilege.
  5. Tent fly policy - Sorry... The Mecklenburg County Land Use and Environmental Services and Risk Management Event Policy for the Games do not permit the installation of personal tents or tent fly’s. The CVSS is required to enforce this policy.
  6. The Passport to Scotland Tent will issue Passport’s to encourage the kids to look at the displays in the Clan Tents. Clan representatives are likewise encouraged to reward the kid’s interest by answering questions and stamping or initialing their Passports.
  7. While we may seem to restate the obvious, cell phones must be turned off by attendees at the Call of the Clans and the Sunday morning Worship Service.
  8. NC State law prohibits open containers of alcohol in the passenger compartment of a vehicle.
